Cobra: Reapers MC Book 8 Page 9

Raven takes a couple steps towards me and sits on the other end of the couch. She’s only a couple feet away, but it gives us a decent amount of space to both breathe without being overwhelmed. “I should’ve asked for a break before we left for school. Instead I let the animosity build up between the two of us and said something I never truly meant, losing a friendship in the process. I think we both needed to have this chat a long time ago, but I want to say how sorry I am. Neither one of us are perfect and we made some pretty big mistakes that night.” She chokes a few times while she’s speaking, but it only shows me how genuine she’s being right now.

“I forgave you a long time ago, Chels’.” I call her by her legal name, hoping it will show her I understand.

She scrunches up her nose, “Ditto, but you should know better than to call me that.”

Cobra claps his hands together forcing the two of us to look at him, “Hold up a second. You two lived in the middle of nowhere Montana, were best friends and had a thing for each other?”

  I nod.

Cobra smiles like a kid in a candy store, “Holy fuck, that’s hot.”

Mouser chuckles from the chair he’s been obnoxiously snoring in, “You know, I bet if some girl on girl action were to go on right now Hawk wouldn’t even care.”

“Hawk?” I question, raising my brows.

“Hawk is my ol’ man’s name.” Raven responds.

“An ol’ man is basically a term for husband, ol’ lady is the term for wife.” Cobra says, educating me in the process.

Wow. Raven is really living a completely different life with these people. Not that I can blame her, I’d want something totally different if I was in her shoes.

“So uh . . . do you want to stay a while and get to know everyone?” Raven asks.

I suck in a deep breath and nod, hoping I won’t regret it by the end of the night. Something tells me this is going to be equal amounts entertaining and terrifying.

How do I feel about you? I’m glad you asked, she whispered. Now, put your hands between my legs and find out for yourself.

  Izzy

Raven obviously held back a few things about her life from when we had gone out to lunch. The biggest thing she didn’t tell me is how she now has custody over her two younger half-sisters. Her deadbeat father turned out to be a pedophile that she blocked most of her memory of as a child. He left his family in Montana and went off to start a new one years down the line. By the fate of God they somehow crossed paths and Raven became an angel for her little sisters.

Over the course of a few hours I met Damon who’s the Prez of this club, so he’s the guy in charge. I met everyone except Hawk, Chaz and the VP which stands for Vice President because they said those people were out on a run . . . whatever that means. They still haven’t explained it but considering I’m an outsider I doubt that I’ll have access to all the information for quite a while. I don’t even know if I want the information to be honest.

No one really surprised me, not even meeting the man named Booger himself. I’ll admit, I cringed at his name upon meeting him. I asked about the story behind his name because everyone here seems to have one when Dixon popped in and told me he was named Booger because he always knew how to pick ‘em. Everyone around us busted out into laughter. While it’s not a name I’d pick for a big, burly guy like this it’s nice to see the humor inside this dysfunctional form of family.

Actually, let me retract what I just said. One person did surprise me when she showed back up to the club— Amara. She’s the VP of the club and it kind of blew me away considering every other person in the club with a title is a man. It was pleasantly surprising to see another woman who was part of the club, not an ol’ lady or a clubwhore.

Raven and I stayed in the clubhouse for a couple of hours until she needed to say her goodbyes to go get her sisters from their friend’s house. She needed to grab them because Hawk and Chaz are still out on a run. Amara left to go off to where she lives a few minutes ago, adamantly saying how exhausted she was. Again, still don’t know what a run means but I doubt she’s talking about physically running. If they’d been on a run that long, I’m sure they would’ve dropped dead from a heart attack by now.

From hanging out in this club I’ve seen how Cobra and Mouser are the jokers of this joint. Dixon is a complete smartass but seems to have a big heart while the man who leads them all seems to be quiet and would rather pay attention to what everyone else does.

Not one of the clubwhores they mentioned have popped in, but I was able to meet Kat, Damon’s woman. She’s gorgeous in a scary type of way. I’d say she looks like the queen of darkness, light complexion with dark features. The way she carries herself tells her story in itself. She’s been through some shit, but never will I ask since its none of my business.

“You know, we’ve had some pretty heavy shit goin’ on here over the past couple weeks. You showing up here is the first time we’ve all been able to hang out together, even with a few smiles on faces.” Cobra says, giving me a hopeful look.

I want to ask why things have been so difficult, but I know it’s not my place. It’s simply the only human reaction I know, to ask and see if I can help in some way. “I’m glad I can help take your minds off whatever is troubling you.” There aren’t any right words to say, but I hope what I’ve said is okay.

He nods from his seat beside me. After Raven left we moved over to a quieter corner of the room. Only Cobra grabbed another bottle of tequila from behind the bar and I saw Sakura leave with Ivy just a few minutes ago. Music plays in the background and slowly people are leaving the common area of their club.

Part of me feels like this is my cue to leave but I’ve been drinking entirely too much. I’m not drunk, but I’d never be stupid enough to drive with what I imagine is a pretty high blood alcohol limit. All Love by Fletcher comes pounding through the speakers, and while I’m sitting with Cobra hearing him tell me a ridiculous story about the guys going out to a bar one night all I’m listening to is the lyrics in the song. It tells the tale of a heartbroken woman who’s subjected to seeing her ex out with another person. She documents the similarities between her ex’s new woman and herself, choking on the memory of what they were together singing about how she’s having a hard time with it all, unsure on whether she should act like she doesn’t know her or give into the pain.

She continues talking about how alcohol is her coping mechanism, taking another shot of her chosen liquor. Spotting her ex with a woman at the club is silently killing her and it speaks to me in such a heartfelt way. Especially as the rumble of motorcycles come to a stop in front of the club and I watch Raven run out of her house to the man who must be Hawk.

My eyes are focused on them and as much as I try to look away I can’t. I watch the way he looks down into her eyes like she’s the most important person in his life. As much as I don’t want it to hurt— it does. The worst part is seeing the flash in her eyes; the one thing I thought had only ever existed for me.

I take the bottle from Cobra’s hands and down a decent gulp, hating the feeling that swarms over my body. It feels like bugs are crawling all over me. “You okay?” Cobra asks, placing his hand over mine.

I nod, lying to myself in the process. “Yeah, I’m fine.”

“You don’t look fine. I mean, you look gorgeous . . . but you look like someone just ripped your heart out.” He says in a low tone, but I see his eyes dart up just a bit and widen. He must see what I was just looking at. “Oh, you must’ve really loved her back in the day.”

I give a curt nod. “You have no idea. I thought about marrying her.”

  “No shit, really?”

“Yeah. Something about her just . . . fuck, I shouldn’t even be talking to you about this. It doesn’t matter anymore.”

“Hey, I’m not one to judge. I fell in love with a woman who betrayed everyone dear to me and is the reason we’re in the predicament we’re in right
now. It makes me feel guilty as shit, also makes me not wanna give my heart to another. But hey, you moved on after Raven, right?”

I chuckle lightly, “Yeah, finding the exact opposite of her. Ashlynn ripped me to shreds.”

“With a name like that she couldn’t help it. You know what they say about chicks with trailer trash names like that. Their momma’s tried to class up their names a bit and it cursed ‘em.”

I’ve never heard anything more ludicrous in my life which causes laughter to consume me. Out of nowhere Cobra places his hand on my inner thigh, smiling like some sort of model. There’s something so genuine about the way he places his hand on me. Hell, he’s making me feel like he purposefully spilled out that joke just to get a laugh out of me.

“When is the last time you had someone kiss you the way you deserved?” His question stuns me and I think about it long and hard, thinking back to a time where the woman on the other side of the window was pressing her lips against mine.

“You don’t want to know,” I admit.

“If I didn’t, I wouldn’t have asked.” He growls out in a seductive tone inching his way closer to me. His hand slides further up my thigh and his breath comes in hot and heavy on my chin.

“Cobra, we shouldn’t do this. It won’t be good for either of us.” I say, trying to turn him away from it. I won’t give him anything he wants, or at least, I don’t think I will.

“What do you think I want, babycakes? I’m not lookin’ for love or anythin’ close. I just had a knife shoved through my heart and from the looks of it, your heart is beating for a woman who will never return the favor. That ship has left the dock. Now, I’m not a fool. We both have needs and considerin’ we seem to get along pretty well I think we could keep each other company without disrespecting the other.” Every word Cobra is speaking makes sense to me.

I do like him, but I’m not looking for love either. Raven hurt me in the past, Ashlynn fucked me over . . . and now I’m here alone, with the only man who wants to fuck me being my boss. “What are you suggesting?” I ask, reading between the lines although I want him to verbally say it so we’re both crystal clear.

Cobra grins, gliding his hand to the crotch of my shorts and traces his thumb over my lips. “You know what I’m suggesting, Izzy. I think you want to watch my tongue slide around as I say it though, so lemme make it crystal clear. I want to kiss you so fiercely that you’re left panting against a wall, begging me to plow my cock into you. I want you to know you’re respected enough to sleep in my bed and vice versa, but I want you to know I don’t expect anything more than that but friendship.”

“Man, when you say it like that.” I whisper, suddenly feeling heat spread over my entire body.

“So, what do you say?” He asks, placing his other hand on my shoulder. Fuck, I don’t know how to answer this. I don’t even know what I’m going to say.

I listen as she tells me she doesn’t know what to say. Izzy sucks in her bottom lip and looks out through the window where Hawk and Raven just were a few moments ago. Her nostrils flare as she inhales, probably debating what to do. Her eyes dart back to mine and glance down to my lips for a split second.

“This is solely friendship?” She questions.

I keep my eyes focused on her round lips, “I’d say more like friends who have passionate benefits, if you catch my drift.”

“And you’re not looking for anything else? Just sex.”

“With friendship. I only fuck people I like, babycakes. You and I seem to be getting along pretty well, so if you’re open to it, which I think you are considering your eyes are now focused on my crotch. I don’t want to marry you or any of that shit. What do ya say about getting over our exes by getting under each other?”

Izzy snickers for a second, “As long as there are no strings.”

“There aren’t any. I’m not a fuckin’ puppeteer, babe.” I smirk, catching her smile grow into another adorable laugh.

I slide my hand down her cheek to the side of her neck, stroking my thumb against her flesh in a caressing way. We share a mutually erotic look for a split second. She sucks her bottom lip in her mouth again. Meanwhile I clench my jaw, ready to take out all of my stressors over the last few days on her body.

I want her to be the one to make the first move, ensuring this is what she really wants. I’ve never been the type to force women into shit and I never will. If she wants this, she’ll make a move. I don’t really know her yet, but somethin’ about Izzy tells me she isn’t the shy type of chick.

I continue to skim my thumb against her skin, silently assuring her everything will be alright. Through my life I’ve been in these fuck buddy type of relationships. I make everything clear from the get-go, but one thing I don’t ever tell them is that I’ll protect them like they’re mine. When a woman spends time in your bed, they’re giving you such an intimate part of them. Any wall they have comes crashing down and in my opinion they’re vulnerable as hell. So, I’ll be her armor when she needs it, even if she doesn’t think she will.

Izzy dips her mouth closer to mine, maybe a millimeter of distance is between us when she meets her lips with my own. Something is different about the way she kisses me. Instead of being fueled by heat and desire she’s slow, sensual and meaningful. Through every flutter of her lips and tongue I can feel the pain she’s had pent up for years. You know what I wanna do? I wanna eradicate it all. I want to take the pain from her and only make her feel pleasure. No woman should feel sadness like this.

Snaking my arm behind her back I pull her closer to me until her legs are wrapped around mine and she’s sitting snugly on my lap. My hand stays planted firmly on the small of her back, slightly dipping down to the top of her ass every now and again. No way am I going to rush her into this. We have plenty of time, so I’ll keep it sweet and slow.

Izzy brings her left hand over my chest and keeps it planted there, giving me the feelin’ she’s thinkin’ about runnin’. “It feels wrong . . . doing this,” she admits, pulling her lips from mine.

I run my hand over her ear, tucking a few stray strands behind it in the process. “Why? We aren’t married. We aren’t in relationships. We’re just two people finding companionship in one another.”

  Izzy’s eyes dart down to the floor, “I . . .”

“What’s runnin’ through that mind of yours?” She’s not obligated to answer me, but I hope she will. What we’re doin’ right now. Fuck, it’ll never be one sided. I want her to tell me shit, even if she thinks it’s stupid.

She shakes her head from left to right, “I’m sorry. I’m just having a hard time accepting the decisions I’ve made recently. I . . . made one I now regret and it’s fucking with my head.”

“Then don’t let it. You can’t change the past, Izzy. All you can do now is accept the decision you made and grow from it.”

  “Yeah,” she nods.

“Whatever it was, I’m sure you had a good reason.”

“Mhm,” she murmurs with tears in her eyes. I’m about to ask her what’s goin’ on in that head of hers, but she crashes her lips back down onto mine in a hot and heavy way, wrappin’ her arms around my neck and brings her chest closer against mine.

I’m no mind reader or anythin’ like it, but boy do I have the feelin’ she wants me to help her forget some pretty heavy shit. Hell, I may not talk about it often, but I have my own demons I wanna forget about.

I keep one hand planted on her back, holding her close while my other stays on the nape of her neck. We sit here for a while getting acquainted with one another’s bodies, slowly exploring this uncharted territory. “Will you let me take you to my bed?” I rasp out, eager to see what’s hidden under these clothes of hers.

“Please,” Izzy begs in a tone I pray I hear again.

My hands stay planted firmly where they are and I rise, hold
ing her securely as I head toward the door of the club, open it and we walk through to the other side, heading for the trailer I share with Camila and Boog.

I take my time with her, grazing my hand along a different crevasse of her body as we venture to my house. I go up the small stairwell that leads up to it, open the door and head inside, catching Boog givin’ me one hell of a smirk from the couch. I flip him the bird before I walk down the hallway to my bedroom, shuttin’ and lockin’ the door behind us.

I allow Izzy to slide her feet down onto the floor and take a step back, takin’ in the woman yet again. She’s about a foot shorter than me, her body is curvy in all the right areas makin’ my cock swell even more under my jeans. I can’t stand fuckin’ a woman who’s as thin as a toothpick.

Her tits are amply on display from her blood red lace bra. I can only tell its color because it’s now peeking out the top of her olive-green t-shirt. Fuck, I sure hope she has panties to match.

“What are you doing?” She asks, raising a brow in confusion.

“Shh, let me take you in,” I instantly reply, darting my eyes over her body. Izzy breathes in heavily, causing her breasts to rise with each breath. “Take off your shirt,” I order, reveling in the way she grasps at the bottom of her shirt and tosses it on the floor beside her.

I’m blown away at seeing more ink adorning her body. For a woman who seems to be so prim and proper, she has a wild side. Under her breasts in the center is a skull, with roses that span out to the left and right. The deep crimson red matches with the exact pigment of her lingerie.

Izzy goes to take her shorts off when I step closer to her and place my hands over hers, “Did I tell you to do that yet, Izzy?”
